So in 2016 I turned 50. I was in Italy for my 21st, 30th and 40th. To keep this birthday tradition going I always knew I'd be in Italy for my 50! This blog starts with my 5 week adventure in Puglia but my love affair with Italy continues.....

Very Moving, we must never forget.
Lest We Forget.
My youngest son and I went to the Remembrance Day Service this morning at the Australian War Memorial. It’s always a very sobering experience.
I did not see one person thru’ the day without the Flanders poppy fastened onto their clothing . . . was at home but went out into the garden and quietly stood full of gratitude as the eleven o’clock bells sounded . . . we sadly have to remember so many new on the field now . . . so many laying down their lives . . .
Beautiful…thank you Tonya.
We are who and what we are because of their sacrifice. Forget? Never!
My family was heavily invested in the machinations of war. Nowdays soldiers pretty much know what they are getting into when they sign up. Back then it was a completely different ballgame. So many young men died and were overrun by the desire for power between countries. We need to remember them because those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
Don’t you think the Tower of London poppies are amazing? I totally love the whole concept. This is lovely too, Tanya. We owe such a debt!
They are stunning and it’s so moving to see so many people visiting.
Beautiful words. Thank you!
We shall never forget. Wonderful post and tribute
We watched the young cadet planting the last ceramic poppy on Sky News. It was amazing!
Plant flowers. located in an area where ?
These are growing in southern England but I think they are quite hardy and would grown in a lot of different places.
These are poppies which grow wild near our home in the mountains of Southern Spain.
